Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Associate Director will have both internal and external responsibilities, with the ability to assist or step into many of the ED’s current roles as appropriate, such as: 1) program leadership (implementation of key strategic plan elements); 2) land protection (landowner cultivation, easement development, and stewardship); and 3) development and communications (donor cultivation and outreach, grants, and events). The Associate Director will partner closely with the Executive Director and Board to develop and manage the growth of the Upper Savannah Land Trust and its strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services. Specific duties will be tailored to take maximum advantage of individual skill sets and to complement those of existing staff and Board.

The Strategic Conservation Projects Director is a senior-level, mission-driven, highly-motivated land protection staff member who will play a key role on the Lowcountry Land Trust (LLT) Conservation Team. This person will be instrumental in ensuring the Land Trust’s long-term success by focusing on catalyzing and leading large and/or complex land protection projects across South Carolina’s coastal plain. Central to this effort will be building, nurturing, and maintaining strong relationships with key constituencies, including landowners, nonprofit and government partners, funders, and other stakeholders. The person in this position will regularly engage with a portfolio of owners of strategically important unprotected land; cultivate LLT’s use of new, untapped, and/or complex sources of land protection funding; leverage impact capital and conservation investor capital for land protection; develop innovative partnerships and methods for leveraging protection by other entities; provide guidance to other LLT project managers; and otherwise contribute to LLT’s collective conservation strategies.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications & Outreach Manager supports the conservation mission of Congaree Land Trust through the execution of the organization’s marketing, communications and outreach strategy. The Manager will lead all internal and external communications, ensuring consistency, effectiveness and enhancing the Land Trust’s reputation among stakeholders and community. Additional responsibilities include coordination of CLT events, event staff and volunteers.
