Aiken Land Conservancy - Executive Director

The Aiken Land Conservancy (ALC), an accredited land  trust, seeks an Executive Director to lead its mission to protect  Aiken’s natural and historic resources.  Our conserved properties  include critical watersheds and ecosystems, rural and urban open space,  historic properties, and public recreational land.  ALC also plays a key  role in the protection of a unique urban forest, Hitchcock Woods, and  Aiken’s extensive historic districts.  Aiken and the surrounding county  are supported by an economy defined by large farming, forestry,  equestrian and manufacturing operations.

The Executive Director must have solid conservation experience,  competence in the easement process, solid administrative skills, and be  able to serve as ALC’s public face to the community, government, and  other organizations. The Executive Director will work with a dedicated  board and a small but seasoned staff, supported by a community that is  receptive to our mission.  With a healthy financial position, ALC’s goal  is to enhance our operational capabilities to respond to increasing  development pressure.  ALC is committed to protecting the natural beauty  that defines our community today as well as play a key role in shaping  its future.  Southern Living Magazine has selected Aiken as one of the  South’s Best Small Towns, and ALC’s resources are dedicated to  protecting the quality of life that made that designation possible.

TO APPLY: For more information please visit their website. Please email the ALC president at president@conserveaiken.org.
